The Three Basic Methods
1st Method: Peng Qi Guan Ding Fa: Lift Qi up and Pour Qi Down
This is the basis of practice: a series of gentle movements of the body synchronised with meditation and visualisation that open up internal blockages, thus facilitating the exchange of Qi between body and nature.
With special movements, the free flow of Energy is restored between the body and the universe, the inside and the outside, the material and immaterial.
The body and the mind tune into the pristine information, which is received from all directions of infinity.
2nd Method: Xing Shen Zhuang: Body and Mind
This works more with the body united with the mind. The harmonisation of energy, achieved through the flexibility exercises of the 2nd method, gently releases the joints, muscles, tendons and meridians. Movements lead Qi (Energy) to flow all around the body from head to toe. It is quite a dynamic method.
3rd Method: Wu Yuan Zhong: Five Yunyuan Form
This works on the five inner organs and the emotions corresponding to them. It combines special gestures (mudras), emotions and sounds with movements, resulting in a complete form. If there has been serious preparation with Methods 1 and 2, then the third method hides infinite possibilities, both for balancing emotions and for spiritual development.
While with the 1st and 2nd methods the energy balanced by the exercises is stored in the lower Dantian (the area of the navel), with the 3rd method, the energy being worked upon is led to the Hunyuan Palace. The Hunyuan Palace is located in the diaphragm, where the energy of the kidneys (lower Dantian) meets the energy of the heart (middle Dantian). That is, where the energies of Heaven and Earth unite!
